Papa John's Mobile Kitchen Assisting with Local Relief Effort
It’s been only days since the world changed for many residents in Moore, Oklahoma, but for those digging out and healing their losses, unfortunately, the road will be long. We at Papa John’s value the wonder of community – and while the losses experienced by many are truly unimaginable and devastating, all of us with a presence in the Moore area are affected. Neighbors, co-workers, friends, and total strangers … we all become “family” in these times with the common ideal of returning life to what it once was. We believe that helping to create momentum for the rebuild effort is our obligation as a constituent of this community, and several initiatives on our part are in play to reach that goal.
Local Oklahoma Papa John’s operator Jason Opie and his crew have organized a terrific effort providing hundreds and hundreds of pizzas to feed victims and relief workers who are assisting with the cause. Our regional and corporate offices have brought in mobilized kitchen trucks to also provide free pizza by the score. In addition to food, we’ve long been a strong financial supporter of the Salvation Army, but today, we are taking it one step further. As part of our Papa John Cares initiative, for each order placed nationwide TODAY Sunday, May 26th, $1 will be donated directly to the Salvation Army Oklahoma Relief Effort.
If you plan to enjoy Papa John’s pizza this week, we hope that you’ll make it today. Let’s all help to give back to our neighbors, friends and relatives who are struggling during this time. They may not be a part of your immediate family, but you will be helping a great cause and an incredible community to perhaps get back on its feet a little sooner.
Papa John Schnatter: “Our thoughts and wishes continue to go out to the good people of Moore, Oklahoma. This has been a devastating occurrence and we hope that this weekend – as we celebrate patriotism across our nation – that others will join us in helping to further fuel the recovery efforts.”Please share at #papajohncares and #2ways2help.
